People immigrate to the U.S. from Cuba because they don't agree with or are opressed by the Power and Control from the country they're fleeing from. The young man in this picture is seen swimming away from Raul Modesto Castro's communist country because he doesn't agree with the form of goverment and something negative was being done to him in Cuba.

If you come to the United States illegally you cannot vote to decide who the governs the country you live in. If you are not a legal U.S. citizen you have just about no Power or Control of the place where you live.

Coming to the United States legally might result in citizenship if enough time is passed living in the country. Once a legal citizen you have the right to vote for the governers of the place you live in and who has power. Becoming a U.S. citizen gives you a certain amount of Power & Control
